June Durkin lives
and teaches at Rusheens Yoga Centre. She became inspired by the
practice of yoga to heal and maintain a healthy body and mind.
In 1990 she decided to build a centre where people could come and
discover the benefits of yoga.
June has been practicing and teaching yoga for
25 years and is qualified by the British Wheel of Yoga.
After studying various other traditions of yoga
for many years, in 1993 June was introduced to an approach in yoga
pioneered by the late Vanda Scaravelli. She was passionately drawn
towards this approach, and began training in the UK with John Stirk
and Sophy Hoare, who studied closely with Vanda for many years,
along with Diane Long, Sandra Sabatini and Elizabeth Paunzce. June
studied with all these inspiring teachers. She also studied the
Feldenkrais method, Zero Balancing, Shiastu and various other mind
body disciplines, and practices Buddhist meditation. June is currently
exploring painting and drawing and their connection to the body
work she practices. |
